In a first on CNBC Africa, South Africa’s Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba said  that he is not captured by any family when asked how the public should perceive him in light of the #Guptaleaks and his name being tied to the influential family, who have close ties to President Jacob Zuma.

“I dissociate myself from any such allegations, I am an independent person who works on the basis of his conscience and believe in the constitution of the country any loyalty in the constitution of the country.” He said.
