CBN: Nigeria’s debt servicing payments up 69% y/y to ₦6.04trn in H1’24

Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria shows the country’s debt servicing payments rose 69 per cent year-on-year to 6.04 trillion naira in the first half of this year. Meanwhile, the Governor of the apex bank notes though higher interest rates remain painful for borrowers, however, necessary to curb excess money in circulation and control inflation.
